    Nové Zámky
    The town was founded in the 16th century on the site of four villages destroyed by the Turks. On the right bank of the river a new hexagonal fort was built of stone, which was one of the most advanced fortifying structures of Europe of that time.

    The Jan Thain Museum
    The Jan Thain Museum (before Homeland Museum at Nové Zámky) takes contact with the town's collection and museum activities dating from 1936 - on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the liberation of the town's fortress from the Turks. The museum collects objects of archaeology, history, numismatics, ethnography and books, from the territory of the Nové Zámky district. It also boasts a remarkable collection of historical weapons.
  • Art Gallery Nove Zamky
    Its permanent exghibition, located on the first floor of the Art Gallery at Nové Zámky, focuses on Central-European fineart of the 18th and 19th century, and on 19th and 20th century art in Slovakia and Hungary.
    The Lajos Kassák exhibition on the second floor of the Gallery buiding is of a documentary, literary and artistic character.

    Floating water mill in Kolárovo
    The town of Kolárovo is situated 22 km from Nové Zámky, at the confluence of the River Váh and Malý Dunaj (Little Danube).
    An initial mill was built –up around year 1920 and the owner was Mr.Szivanyó Béla. Water mill did exist untill the year 1945, when it burned down under mysterious circumstances. That downfall at all has been also the downfall of the last existing floating water mill on the all flow of the Danube....
